The emphasis this year is on encouraging ALL to read – no matter your age or ability. This is your opportunity to discover the joy that can be found in each and every Christchurch city library! We welcome you to join us - through books and magazines, online explorations, and programmes and events.

Paper Challenge

The winners were announced on Monday 5 February! Gina (Linwood Library), Gus (Papanui Library), and Maire (Lyttelton Library) won movie tickets and Westfield vouchers. 

How did it work?

Teens/Adults aged 14 years and over were encouraged to interact with their local library this summer. Pick up a challenge sheet from any one of our Christchurch City Libraries or download a copy. Complete at least 5 of these simple challenges and be in to win!

FAQ

Who can enter?

Teens/Adults aged 14 years and over. You do not need to be a member of Christchurch City Libraries to be eligible to enter.

What if I am an employee of the Christchurch City Council, or my parents are employees?

That is fine, you are still eligible to enter.

Do I need to have a library card?

No.

Where can I get a challenge sheet?

You can pick up a challenge sheet from any Christchurch City Library or download a copy.

How do I enter for the prize draw?

Paper Challenge: Once you have completed the tasks – simply tick the boxes and enter your details. Take your entry form in to any Christchurch City Libraries and hand to a staff member to be in the draw to win.

Online Challenge: Answer one of our weekly questions via our Facebook page and be in to win weekly prizes.

How many entries in the prize draw am I allowed?

You may enter as many times as you like.

What are the prizes?

Westfield vouchers, MTA vouchers, Book vouchers, Movie vouchers

When will the winners be drawn?

Paper Challenge: The winners will be randomly drawn and announced on our website and Facebook page on Monday 5 February 2018.

Online Challenge: Weekly prize draws will be announced on our Facebook page. 

Terms and conditions

  • The READ competition is open to all aged 14+ years.
  • The competition is open between 1 January and 31 January 2018.
  • Entries must be returned to any one of the Christchurch City Libraries by 5pm on Wednesday 31 January 2018.
  • Winners will be drawn at random and announced on our website and Facebook page on Monday 5 February 2018.
  • Prize allocation is at the discretion of the Christchurch City Council. All decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Entries must have all correct contact details.
