Lyttelton Harbour Festival of Lights 2014

The Lyttelton Harbour Festival of Lights is an annual event celebrating the Lyttelton community.

The festival ran over four days from 19 to 22 June 2014. The programme features a wearable arts parade, music, kapa haka, food and wine, live poetry performances, art exhibitions and fireworks.

Lyttelton Harbour Festival of Lights also celebrates Matariki, the Māori New Year.

The programme of 2014 events includes:

Festival of lightsThursday 19 June

  • Stories and hot chocolate at Lyttelton Library, 6.30pm
  • Live poetry performances by local poets at Tommy Changs, 8pm

Friday 20 June

  • Street party including the Lyttelton Engineering Wearable Arts Parade from 6pm
  • The Lyttelton Port of Christchurch Fireworks display from 7.30pm
  • The Festival of Darkness at Civil and Naval: drink and dine amongst 1000 candles

Saturday 21 June 2014

  • Mid-winter Christmas Market, at Lyttelton Farmers Market, London Street, 10am-1pm
  • Screening of Goodbye Pork Pie at No. 6 London Street, 7pm

Sunday 22 June 2014

  • Helen Taylor solo exhibition opening at Roots Restaurant, 3-5pm
