We’re excited to announce a new version of the software that powers our library’s website will go live next month. Our library will be releasing the upgrade of our website early on Thursday 12 December. For approximately two hours in the early morning, you will not be able to access the website and will instead see a maintenance page. Here is some information on the changes and improvements.
Stuff NZ Ltd PressReader content (like The Press and Sunday Star Times) is no longer available for you to access from home via Christchurch City Libraries. Stuff NZ Ltd content is now only available to customers using a library computer, or using a phone or device on the library wifi. It can only be accessed via the PressReader website and not the PressReader app.
Akaroa Library will close for improvements on Monday 18 November and reopen on Monday 16 December.
Redwood Library will remain closed in order to carry out more repairs. The library in Main North Road closed on Monday 29 July to allow for a site upgrade. It was originally due to reopen on Monday, 26 August. However, further investigations show that the building requires more work than planned.
Redwood Library at 339 Main North Road will close for improvements at 1pm on Saturday 27 July. It is scheduled to reopen on Monday 26 August at 10am.
In response to customer feedback, we are changing the time automated email notices are sent out. Holds and Overdue email notices are generated and sent out from 12.30 to 1.30am each morning. This has been a problem for some customers who have their email notifications switched on.. We are trying a different time to send out email notices to see if this helps. From Monday 17 June, we will send out emails at 7am. We have chosen this time as it should still allow customers to read their notices before they leave for work or school.
