Tūranga Tour (1 hour)
We will show you Tūranga floor by floor and you will see all that a modern library offers. We will look at the exciting things on the children’s floor Hapori | Level 1, find the Imagination Station, visit other floors and enjoy the view from the roof gardens on Auahatanga | Creativity, Level 4.
Story time (30 minutes)
Join us for a themed story time. Suitable for primary aged children.
Research / Info Literacy (1 hour)
This visit focuses on physical and online resources that can support your students with study and recreational reading, such as Libby, Borrowbox, Mango Languages, RB Digital Magazines, eDiscovery Search, PressReader, AnyQuestions, Ngā Pounamu Māori and other specialist resources. Suitable for intermediate and high school students.
Tūranga Technology taster on Auahatanga | Creativity, Level 4 (1 hour)
See the awesome technology available in the library including Taupuni Waihanga / Production Studio and Taupuni Oro/Ataata / Audio/Video Studio and hear all about how things work and what can be done on these cutting edge machines. Suitable for intermediate and high school students.
Discovery Wall He Hononga | Connection, Ground floor (30 minutes)
Discover photos and videos of Christchurch. Learn how to send a virtual postcard to your family and friends.Tūranga is home to New Zealand's largest digital touch wall.
Bookbot Challenge (1.5 hours self-directed)
Meet the Bookbot team and help them find clues to get their broken space ship up and going. Start on He Hononga | Connection, Ground Level and work your way up the floors and complete the various Bookbot challenges to help our heroes fix their ship and return home! This augmented reality experience is great fun for all ages.
Download Bookbots from the Google Play Store or the iTunes App Store and scan the Bookbot targets that are located on each floor of Tūranga. Starting with He Hononga | Connection, Ground Level and work your way up the floors and complete the various Bookbot challenges to help our heroes fix their ship and return home!
