Connect Tūranga Tour (1 hour)
Come and check out Tūranga and see floor by floor all that a modern library offers. We will look at all the exciting things on the children’s floor, find the Imagination station, visit other floors and enjoy the view from the roof gardens on Auahatanga | Creativity, Level 4.
Suitable for all age groups.
Connect Story time + Tūranga Tour (1.5 hours)
This session will include a tour of the building, a themed story time and a craft activity. Suitable for primary aged children.
Connect Research/Info Literacy + Tūranga Tour (2 hours)
Included in this session will be a tour with a focus on physical and online resources that can support your students with study and recreational reading. Resources include Libby, Borrowbox, Mango Languages, RB Digital Magazines, eDiscovery, PressReader, AnyQuestions, microfilm and the Aotearoa New Zealand Centre, and Ngā Pounamu Māori.

Tūranga Technology show and tell on Auahatanga | Creativity, Level 4 (30 minutes)
See our awesome technology available in the library including Taupuni Waihanga / Production Studio and Taupuni Oro/Ataata / Audio/Video Studio and hear all about how things work and what can be done on these cutting edge machines.
Augmented Reality Experience on Hapori | Community, Level 1 and Auahatanga | Creativity, Level 4 (30 minutes)
Explore our augmented reality collection books. Visit the virtual fish tank. Use the cool Quiver app to name and colour your fish add it to the tank and watch it swim.
3D Printers Demo (30 minutes)
Find out all about 3D printing and take part in this interactive session.
Discovery Wall He Hononga | Connection, Ground floor (30 minutes)
Tūranga is home to New Zealand's largest digital touch wall. Discover photos and videos of Christchurch. Learn how to send a virtual postcard to your family and friends.
Bookbot Challenge (1.5 hours self-directed)
Meet the Bookbot team and help them find clues to get their broken space ship up and going. Start on He Hononga | Connection, Ground Level and work your way up the floors and complete the various Bookbot challenges to help our heroes fix their ship and return home! This augmented reality experience is great fun for all ages.
Download Bookbots from the Google Play Store or the iTunes App Store and scan the Bookbot targets that are located on each floor of Tūranga. Starting with He Hononga | Connection, Ground Level and work your way up the floors and complete the various Bookbot challenges to help our heroes fix their ship and return home!
Suitable for Year 5 upwards
Tūranga Exhibitions – Te Pito Huarewa / Southbase Gallery, Tuakiri | Identity, Level 2
Kā Huru Manu 26 January - 28 April 2019, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 9.30am and 1pm slots (1.5 hours)
In this 90 minute session students will discover the virtual maps of important sites to Ngāi Tahu. Interact with the stunning photos and the treasured journeys in this informative session.
