Culture Galore is an outdoor multicultural festival which was scheduled to take place on 19 February 2022. It has been cancelled for 2022.
About the festival
Culture Galore is an annual event at Ray Blank Park celebrating Christchurch’s diverse ethnic culture in a family atmosphere.
The event is supported by the Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood and Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Boards.
Performances and activities
Stage performances range from Japanese drummers to colourful traditional dances and songs from Indonesia, Korea, Philippines, Poland, China, Fiji, Russia, Thailand, Mexico, Bangladesh and many more places. As well as these amazing performances there is a huge range of have a go activities, such as stone carving, flax weaving, face painting, baseball hitting, bouncy castles, police speed radar, henna tattoos, fire evacuation challenge and more. You can also sample some of the appetising ethnic cuisines from one of the 40+ food stalls.
Entry and activities are free. but there is a cost for food and craft items.
