South Library closed; South Colombo opening 9am Monday 24 February
South Library will close for good at 4pm Sunday 9 February. The temporary library, South Colombo, will open at The Colombo on Monday 24 February. Construction of Ōmōkihi, the new Library and Customer Service Hub will take place in 2025 and 2026.

Location confirmed for pop-up South Library
Christchurch City Libraries is partnering with The Colombo shopping centre to create a new pop-up library in early 2025. The pop-up will serve as a temporary replacement for the soon-to-be-rebuilt South Library building.
