From Tuesday 23 February, you will have the opportunity to preview a new feature in the library catalogue. We would like your feedback.
When you search or browse for an item in the catalogue, a banner will appear on pages giving you the opportunity to provide feedback or to leave the preview.
Some of the new features are as follows:
- A larger cover image display
- Clearer display of titles
- Easier to read descriptive summary
- Ratings
- The Title section also includes improvements to the display of ratings and to the way you add your own ratings.
Format Chooser
The Format Chooser focuses more on availability. A 'more editions' menu makes it easier to see multiple editions of titles in the same format.
In the Same Series
As a feature of our NoveList Select integration, series now display in a more visual fashion.
Opinion / Visual Curated Content
In the Opinion section, the contributions that our library staff make are now promoted.
Staff lists
To make the most of our engaging staff lists, the Bib page prominently and visually features staff lists.
Relevant Recommendations
Recommendations are more prominently highlighted.
Availability details at preferred location
‘Availability details’ have been made more prominent in search results. A new feature also allows you to sort and show availability at your preferred location. This feature will save users a lot of time, particularly for magazines.
Magazines – sorting holdings
You simply click on Availability and can sort by Volume (ascending or descending order).
Important points to note
Full record details
Full record details can be found under the About section – Full details.
To view subject headings for fiction titles, you need to click Full details. The same applies to see Table of contents and more detailed parts of the item record.
