Library Leadership Team

The Library Leadership Team is responsible for all aspects of public library services for Christchurch City Council. 

Rosie Levi is currently the acting Head of Libraries & Information, with overall responsibility for leading the planning and delivery of public library services for Christchurch City and Banks Peninsula. Rosie is also part of the Council project team which is working with the build team for the new library and customer service hub Ōmōkihi.

Erica Rankin is the Community Libraries B Manager. The libraries in her portfolio include: Aranui, New Brighton, Parklands, Fendalton, Ōrauwhata: Bishopdale, Papanui, Redwood, and Shirley.

Kate Ogden is the acting Community Libraries A Manager. The libraries in her portfolio include: Linwood, Matuku Takotako: Sumner Centre, Spreydon, Te Hāpua: Halswell Centre, Matatiki Hornby Centre, South Colombo, Upper Riccarton, Lyttelton, Little River, Akaroa and Diamond Harbour.

Chris Hay is the Tūranga Central Library Manager. His team aims to deliver a destination library for residents and visitors to the city. As the network’s metropolitan library, Tūranga has a role in the central city activation for Council.

Māia Abraham is the Kaihautū Ngā Ratonga Māori | Manager, Māori & Multicultural Services and has the privilege to lead a wonderful team of passionate individuals to deliver quality Māori, Pasifika and Multicultural library services. They lead initiatives and events throughout our Libraries to support the gathering and learning of the diverse communities in our city. The team are key in supporting the Libraries & Information priorities to be a good Te Tiriti partner and work in a bicultural way.

Christine Grant is the Content Manager for Libraries & Information. She manages the four Content teams responsible for: selection, processing, describing, cataloguing, and supporting the management of collections in the network; distributing stock; digital resources; and the library websites. Christine also manages the Libraries’ vendor relationships for collections.

Hayley Browne is the Programmes and Learning Manager for Libraries. Her portfolio includes: leading the strategic development for public programmes and events, activation of the Auahatanga creative spaces, co-ordination of Outreach initiatives, and management of Libraries staff learning and development.

Vanessa Carey is the Management Support Team Leader and Personal Assistant for Head of Libraries & Information. The team that Vanessa leads provide support to members of the Libraries Leadership Team, as well as providing administration services for the whole Libraries network.
