Stonewall Book Awards

Christchurch City Libraries lists literary prize winners and links to catalogue searches, but we may not hold copies of all titles mentioned.

The American Library Association Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered Book Awards were established in 1971, and are awarded to authors of exceptional merit examining the lesbian, gay and/or bisexual experience, by the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered Task Force of the ALA.

In 2002, the name changed to the Stonewall Book Award: Barbara Gittings Literature Award for Fiction and the Stonewall Book Award: Israel Fishman Award for Non-Fiction.

From 2010 the awards included a Children's & Young Adult Literature Award.
