Christchurch City Libraries has more than 20,000 CDs, tapes, LPs and DVDs as well as thousands of music scores, music books and magazines and online music streaming services.

Find music in our collection

We have an extensive collection covering classical, rock, pop, jazz, film, musicals, ethnic, country, and more.

Music CD collections are found in Tūranga, Fendalton, Linwood, New Brighton, Papanui, Shirley, South, Te Hāpua, and Upper Riccarton Libraries.

Our LP collection is held in a storage facility and may be requested.  There is also a range of music DVDs available for borrowing across the network.


Written music

Some of our extensive collection of music scores and sheet music is available at Tūranga. The rest is in storage but may be requested (see placing holds).
