Technology Programmes - eKnow How

Explore library programmes and sessions designed to help you become more comfortable with technology, and to make better use of your own computer tools.

2021 Bookings and Payment

We are now using online booking platform Humanitix for all of our bookable programmes. Payment via debit or credit card is required at the time of booking. Paid programmes incur a booking fee. The entire fee is passed on to charity, find out more about the impact this has on our community. Refunds are available for cancellations made 48 hours prior to the programme starting.

Consent Form

We require a consent form to be completed for every child attending our programmes. A link can be found at the time of purchase in ticketing information and will also be sent via the confirmation email. (Please note: we only require one form per child, per calendar year)

Waitlist

A limited waitlist will be available for the current programme only. We will no longer be offering a waitlist for a place on the following term. Customers will need to make a booking each term as they are released.

Better Digital Futures Computer Programmes for ages 65+

We have partnered with Stepping Up to offer a new initiative for seniors seeking help going online.  Better Digital Futures offers four 'starter' pathways, each involving four 2-hour modules.  You can join any of the pathways.  To find out more or make a booking please visit Stepping Up - Better Digital Futures

Tūranga Intro to Photoshop

Join us to learn some basics of Photoshop. You will learn how to touch up old photos, slides and negatives using Photoshop and the equipment you can access at Tūranga. To take this course, you will need computer literacy.

Tūranga Studio Starters: Music Production #1 - Fully Booked

Interested in the production of music? This 3-week programme will teach you how to record, edit and create sounds using MIDI. This programme is intended for those with little or no previous music production experience. Competent computer skills required.

Tūranga Studio Starters: Music Production #2 - Fully Booked

Interested in the production of music? Following on from Tūranga Studio Starters: Music Production #1. This 3-week programme will cover MIDI editing, recording various instruments, audio mixing and equalisation at an intermediate level.

Get help with specific issues such as using email, searching the internet, using the library catalogue, using electronic resources and any other general technology related queries. Free, no bookings required.

GenConnect - Drop-in

Questions about your iPad, Smart Phone or Tablet? Want to know how to use Skype, Facebook, or share your photos with family or friends? Unsure what an app is and what are the best ones to use? Come along to a free GenConnect session, where friendly high school students will be on hand to help with all of your technology questions! Not held during school holidays.

Sessions for Youth

YA Creative Time - FREE, drop-in sessions

Get creative with the awesome equipment on the fourth floor of the new library. Drop in and use a variety of technologies for making your ideas a reality, including sewing machines, 3D printers, craft and vinyl cutters, design software, and electronics.No experience is necessary – just enthusiasm, imagination, and a desire to be creative. Specialist staff will be on hand if you need help. This is your chance to hang out with other creative youth, learn from and support each other, and make really cool stuff. Ages: 13 years plus

YA Studio Time - FREE, drop-in sessions

Tūranga has an audio and video studio! And every Friday it’s open for teens to come in and play around. No experience necessary, just enthusiasm.

This is your opportunity to hang out in the studio, ask our specialist staff questions and meet like-minded new friends. Ages: 13 years plus

To enquire about any programmes please contact us. A Learning Centre Consent Form is required to be completed by the child and a parent/caregiver for all learning centre after school and holiday programmes.
