The information sources range in date from the 19th to the present day on celebrated artists to the very obscure. The information provided was found in different New Zealand libraries, published sources such as Nineteenth Century New Zealand Artists by Una Platts and Art society records such as those from the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts 1882-1982.
