The 2025 theme for Rotuman Language Week is 'Åf'ạkia ma Rak'ạkia 'Os Fäega ma Ag Fak Rotuma - Tefakhanisit Gagaja na se ‘Äe ma Gou - Treasure & Teach Our Rotuman Language and Culture - A Gift Given to You and I by God'.
According to the 2018 Census, 981 people of Rotuman heritage live in New Zealand.

Rotuman Language Week - Gasav Ne Fäeag Rotuạm Ta display at Tūranga
This Rotuman Language Week display in 2022 was put together by Pasifika librarians. Featured is a layer of Rotuman mats called a Päega, which is a seat made for special guests. The finest mat, the apei, is placed on the top.
When used as a bed, this is called a Mosega.
