When will the repairs take place and how long will the facilities be relocated for?

The Little River Service Hub and Library area at the front of the facility on State Highway 75 is closing for improvements. Its last day open is Friday 4 June, and it is scheduled to reopen on Monday 28 June 2021.

Will the Service Hub and Library be available anywhere temporarily?

From Tuesday 8 June, Customer and Library services will be offered from a temporary location in the rear of the building, processing all Council payments and enquiries during the closure. Hours will be Monday to Friday, 8.30am–12.30pm and 1.30pm–4.30pm (closed from 12.30pm–1.30pm). Library-only services will continue to be available on Saturdays from 10am–noon.

What does the upgrade entail?

The work includes security camera upgrade, floor coverings, internal painting and layout changes to make the area more welcoming and user-friendly.

Can I still return my books to Little River Library?

Items can be returned as normal to the temporary Little River Library space, but all Christchurch City Libraries items may be returned to any of our libraries around the city and Banks Peninsula.

Where can I pick up my holds?

From Monday 8 June, any hold items you’ve requested to be collected from Little River Library will still be made available as normal at the temporary Little River Library space, unless another location is requested.

Can I still use the wi-fi?

Yes, wi-fi will be available at Little River Service Hub and Library as normal.
