Christchurch City Libraries lists literary prize winners and links to catalogue searches, but we may not hold copies of all titles mentioned.
The Crime Writers’ Association Dagger in the Library award is unique in that it is the only award that is nominated exclusively by library users, readers and librarians. The nominated authors must be alive, preferably working in Britain and cannot have won the award before. As the award is for a body of work, authors should have published at least three books.
The award was introduced in 1994 with the name “Golden Handcuffs”. From 1997 to 2001 it was in abeyance. In 2002 it returned as the Dagger in the Library.
