Class visits
Our Kura Takiura programmes are designed for ākonga from Years 0 to 13, bringing literacy-based experiences to life through creativity and exploration. Interwoven with our bicultural service philosophy, each programme connects ākonga to the library as a place of discovery and connection.
Bookings take place during school terms and are available by enquiry only. Enquiries must be made at least 15 business days before the visit to allow time for planning and confirmation. Once your request is received, a library kaimahi will contact you to confirm details and finalise the booking. Kaiako and accompanying adults are responsible for supervising ākonga during the visit.

Group visit bookings
If you have a group of 12 or more people, or have areas of special interest, we can arrange a visit hosted by library staff. A general tour of Tūranga lasts around 45 minutes. Due to the high level of interest, we require 10 days' notice for arranging tours. Tours will be scheduled on dates outside of school holidays.
